HILL CEMETERY, Powder Springs, GA 30127

Hill Cemetery is an old family cemetery located on what was once the family property in the Ewing and Clay Road area in Powder Springs. It is located off of Ewing Road in the woods behind a large subdivision. The actual address of the Cemetery is 2758 Dahlonega Trail, Powder Springs, GA.

It is a large cemetery that is contained within a chain link fence and has only one marked grave, that of Catherine Barnwell Hill. Her son, William Hill, placed the marker here.

This cemetery has 12 graves marked by fieldstones, one grave covered in stones and one marked footstone. In the back of the cemetery are several depressions indicating other graves. There may be other graves with flat markers under the covering of leaf and limb clutter. It is not known who else is buried here other than Catherine Barnwell Hill.

A sign is placed outside the fenced cemetery that reads “Adopt-A- Cemetery, Cemetery Preservation, Hill Cemetery, Cobb County Juvenile Court’. It is suggested that if you wish to visit Catherine’s tombstone, you should contact the Cobb County Juvenile Court. There is a small drive that leads up to the cemetery.
